Allen Jacob Baggett in September 1861,
enlisted as a private in Co. F 30th Regiment GA Volunteer Inf., Army of Tennessee
and was a member of Campbell Co., GA Sharpshooters.
This Regiment was officially place in service October 7, 1861 and involved in the following conflicts:
Battle at Georgia on 15 March 1862
Battle at Jacksonville, Florida on 16 October 1862
Battle at Murfreesboro, Tennessee on 31 December 1862

Battle at Jackson, Mississippi on 14 May 1863
Plus many others after Allen Jacob's death.
Allen Jacob died June 29, 1863 of measles, just days before the surrender at Vicksburg.
Looking at these dates makes one believe that possibly Allen had been serving near Jackson, MS
when he contracted measles and may have been sent to Vicksburg due to the Union Victory at Jackson
May 14, 1863.
